Hypnotherapy and Changing the Blueprint

Here we are at last, two weeks late!  The reason for this tardiness is that at the end of June I was in London attending an Anthony Robbins seminar for four days.

You’ve probably heard of Tony Robbins, one of the best-known self development gurus in the world.  If you’ve seen the film ‘Shallow Hal’, he was the guy with the teeth who helped Hal see people’s true inner beauty, in this case in the form of Gwyneth Paltrow.

I’d heard a lot about his seminars and they had never particularly appealed, but lately they’ve been highly recommended by some colleagues I respect, and I decided it would make a change from the introspective events I have attended recently.

Well, good job I was ready for a change – introspective, this was not!  For a start, there were 12,000 people there, and the emphasis was strongly on active learning.  Which means lots of standing, dancing, shouting and hugging!

On the first day I did the notorious firewalk - and not a mark on my feet!  So what’s all that about?  The firewalk changes our blueprint, our expectation of how life should be for us.  Often we are limiting ourselves through conditioning from home and upbringing, and because of unpleasant experiences in the past.  Walking across hot coals without getting the slightest bit burnt really makes you wonder what other amazing things you can achieve!

The seminar has shown me that when I use my hypnotherapy skills, I am helping people to change their blueprint and live their lives in more rewarding ways.  Whether it is moving from a smoker to a non-smoker, gaining in confidence or overcoming a phobia, changing your blueprint can pave the way for a more successful and satisfying life.
